Co-Founder and Co-Director of the poverty eradication project BeadforLife, Devin Hibbard has spent her life’s work helping extremely poor women change their own lives, and creating the awareness in the US to combat poverty.  Devin is passionate about creating partnerships between people living on a dollar a day and world citizens to create a social movement to overcome extreme poverty in our lifetime.

After co-founding BeadforLife, Devin spearheaded an initiative to reach out to rural women in Northern Uganda who suffered nearly 20 years of civil war.  The BeadforLife Shea Butter Initiative works with 760 women in war torn northern Uganda.  These women are paid a fair trade wage to collect shea nuts which BeadforLife turns into organic soap and lip balm.

Devin also believes passionately in engaging Americans on the complex social and global issues surrounding poverty.  Devin works tireless to help others understand that although poverty is a complicated issue, there are proven and effective ways to fight poverty and actions everyone can take to make a difference.

Devin has extensive experience working in international development.  Her work has focused on issues surrounding poverty and empowering women in India, Kenya and Uganda.

Devin holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Administration at the University of Washington specializing in International Development and Non-Profit Management.  She is the author of a guide to international issues, Global Issues & Sustainable Solutions.  Devin is an American Marshall Memorial Fellow, promoting strong ties between Europe and the US, and a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow.
