Julie King has a passionate desire to leave the world a better place than she found it. Serving on the board of BeadforLife, as well as being a BFL Community Partner, is just a part of how she goes about satisfying that passion. Julie’s fulltime career is as a recruiter in the nonprofit world helping to strengthen organizations that serve the underserved both domestically and abroad. Previously, she initiated an international corporate philanthropy program for a large, publicly traded professional services firm. She also served as a legislative ambassador for the American Cancer Society. Julie loves the water and takes advantage of the San Francisco Bay near her home by spending several mornings per week rowing with Bair Island Aquatic Center’s competitive crew team. On the weekends, she enjoys the solitude of communing with nature in a single scull, or with her husband, Chuck, in a double.
