Tera Herman considers herself a social entrepreneur. She has served as a Community Partner since returning from her first trip to Uganda, where she promised the beaders to continue to tell their story. Her commitment to share the story of others and provide sustainable opportunities has been a life long journey. Her full-time job, as a professional in the manufacturing and communications industry provided extensive experience in international development and employment issues. Through her maquilas she began the first SIDS programs, Cribs for Kids, in Juarez & Tijuana Mexico - offering safe sleep environments to all of her associates having babies. She also works with MAHENDI, a maternal health organization promoting maternal healthcare solutions in the Himalayas. Tera serves as a Vice President of the local economic development executive board, the Blair Respiratory Society executive board and has been named one of PA’s 50 Best Women in Business. She lives in PA with her husband, Rob and daughter Mara, an Art History major at Tyler School of Art. |
