Vocational Training for Impoverished
Young Ugandans
Vocational Training for out-of-school youth is one of the best paths towards employment and a sustainable future. Our Vocational Training program offers an opportunity for over 200 youths to learn valuable knowledge and skills and eventually earn a living with pride and dignity.
Impoverished people are often unable to complete traditional education, making their future prospects bleak. Parents often face heart-breaking choices of whether to feed their families, get healthcare, or send children to school. These decisions mean that there are many young people who are bright and intelligent, but due to the unfortunate lack of opportunity, have not been able to reach their true potential.
A 1-2 year course provides students with valuable knowledge and marketable skills, greatly increasing the likelihood of finding meaningful and life-long employment. In turn, stable employment means entire families can afford housing, food, and health care.
Each year, BeadforLife identifies motivated, but impoverished, young people, aged 15 – 26, to enroll in various vocational training courses, including:
| computer technology |
nursing or lab technician |
| catering
|
automotive mechanics |
| carpentry |
hairstyling |
| tourism management |
electrical engineering |
| secretarial and business skills |
