BeadforLife is proud to have touched the lives of so many people, assisting them in their journey out of poverty.

To date we have:

  • Launched BeadforLife in Sept. 2004
  • Trained 883 beaders to make beads and earn regular income
  • Seeded bead making as a Ugandan cottage industry
  • Developed high quality bead products and jewelry bags
  • Worked with volunteers to host over 6,500 BeadParties
  • Finished Friendship Village with 132 homes, 2 wells and abundant gardens
  • Launched Vocational Education Program for Impoverished Youth
  • Sponsored bi-annual leadership camps for vocational education students
  • Produced original music CD, From the Heart of BeadforLife
  • Been featured in top media including NBC, O magazine, Today Show and Family Circle
  • Developed grant program to fund other organizations working in poverty eradication
  • Graduated 621 members from BeadforLife program into self-sufficiency
  • Launched BeadforLife Europe in April 2009
  • Developed a curriculum on extreme poverty called "Understanding Global Poverty: How Youth Can Make a Difference
  • Launched a major initiative to develop an international business using shea butter from Northern Uganda, including retail products and wholesale pure shea butter
  • Enrolled beaders and tailors in Iganga, a rural area in Eastern Uganda
