It’s fitting that Christine is a member of the Bawanguzi group, meaning winners, since she is radiating enthusiasm and good-hearted energy. She is busy frying up doughnuts and chips (fries) for the local community and nearby shops, working hard to reach her dream of someday running a school. Christine has been living in poverty because she was unable to attend school, never having the resources for school fees. Now a mother of four, she rents a two-room house in Kyengera, a Kampala suburb, and is thrilled to be creating the new Imara Cuff Bracelet. “This is going to change my life,” she says as she looks down at the handcrafted beads. “I plan to buy land and build a Primary School. I hope to give an education to children who are in the same situation I was, unable to afford school fees.” Join us in watching Christine achieve her dream of creating opportunities for children!
