Namusoke Farida, 38, divorced her husband six years
ago after he had gone mad and could not settle at home. Last year, she
discovered that her sick husband had married two other women, so he
stopped giving her support
Farida discovered she was HIV positive in 2004 but works very hard
to take care of her health and her four children. She lives with her
children, Farida 14, Rashid 10, Sophia 8, and Ashraff 6, in a very small
room. When they get their holidays she usually sends them to their grandmother
because there is not enough space.
Farida had an eye problem, did not have money to see an ophthalmologist
and was finding difficulty making beads until BeadforLife intervened.
Now she wears eyeglasses and is looking forward to making many beads.
She hopes to earn enough money, take care of all the household needs
and pay for herself in driving school since her dream is to be a driver
and get a driving job with a big company.
