Maria is 42years old. She has five children and they all live with her. All her children are out of school for lack of school funds. Maria is HIV positive and had TB in 2002. She got the treatment but still has a terrible cough. She rents two small rooms made out of mud in a slum area. There is one bed in the house. Her children just sleep on the floor with no mattress. She dreams of buying a sewing machine because now she rents one for ten thousand shillings a month but it doesn't work very well.
