Nanfuka Sylvia is 27 and married with three children: Allen, 7; Edwin, 5; and Ezra, 3.

She sells bananas in a market to earn her income and take care of her children. Her husband, who collects bus fare, does not give her any support.

Sylvia speaks with a soft voice as she explains how difficult it is for them to find food and pay school fees for the children. Sylvia and her family survive on 3,000 shillings (an equivalent of $ 2) per week. Their house is made out of wooden planks with gaps in between, and when it rains the water enters and it gets very cold.

Her dream is to buy a piece of land, build a house, and start a business to raise more money to take care of her children.
