5:30 am:  I wake up, dress, and feed the hens and ducks outside.  Then I dig in my kitchen garden, harvesting any food we will eat today.

6:00 am:  I get my children up, have tea, and get them off to school.  Clean compound.

6:30 am:  On my way to the fields, which takes about a 45 minutes to walk because it is 2 1/2 kilometers away.

7am – 11am:  I do field work on the land I have leased nearby.  I grow potatoes and Cassava (sweet potatoes).

11:00 am:  I walk back home.  Then I go to the well to bring water and clean my utensils and home.  Start organizing lunch, which is always greens and beans, millet flour with cassava.  Then I begin rolling beads.

1:00 pm – 1:30 pm:  Lunch is ready which I eat with my sons who walk home from school and then they go back to school for their afternoon lessons.

1:30 pm - 5:00 pm:  Within these hours I am alone at home making beads.

5:00 pm:   I begin to prepare supper and roll beads. Then I straighten my household.

7:30 pm:  I feed the children supper and then they do homework and I help with their revisions.   I read my Bible up to about 9:30.

9:30 pm:   Before sleep I bathe then organize my kitchen.  I always pray before bed.

On the weekend my children help me with the fieldwork and with making beads.  On Sundays we go to church together.   I love eating my own food grown in the garden surrounding my house.  I never thought I would own a house.  Oh life has changed!
