Jaime and Kelsie Munroe, twin sisters from California, brought their BeadParty to the streets at their annual Tustin Community Yard Sale. They were able to share the beads made from recycled paper, while at the same time helping their family recycle some old gadgets collecting dust in the garage. Jaime’s favorite part of her BeadParty was seeing the faces of her neighbors when she told them the beads were made from recycled paper. As the saying goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
Consider bringing the beads to your summer yard sale. You can get rid of some old clothes and give the message of hope from the Beaders in Uganda who are working to lift their families from poverty. Spreading the word about extreme poverty is one of the most important aspects of hosting a BeadParty and Jaime and Kelsie loved talking about the Beaders in Uganda who made the jewelry they were selling at their yard sale.
