Peninah Namugere is 20. By the time Penninah was 7 both her parents had passed away, leaving her an orphan. An Aunt kindly took her in and she attended school until her Aunt lost her job and was no longer able to afford the school fees. Penninah’s dream is to attend a vocational training course in Catering. She has observed that the hotel and tourism industry is beginning to take off in Uganda, and knows that with a catering qualification, she could be right in the thick of it. Course Length: 1.5 years Sponsorship Fee: $1,165 USD

| This is an example of the inspiring stories of how past and current partnerships between sponsors and students are allowing young Ugandans to seize a better future and filling the hearts and imaginations of North Americans. These students have worked hard and we have seen their confidence and pride grow each month. BeadforLife strives hard to support students not only with the vocational training, but also with 'wrap-around' skills like resume writing, interviewing, networking, and work ethic. We do this in our monthly Friday Afternoon Club, as well as in one-on-one counseling with students. BeadforLife also attempts to help students find jobs once they graduate.
