A Passion for Service
Meet Milou Lammers. Milou has hosted two Bead Parties and raised over $9000 for BeadforLife, all before graduating from high school!
Milou hosted her first Bead Party in 2007, inspired by the gift of a BeadforLife bracelet from her father. Her passion for the mission of BeadforLife motivated her to host another Bead Party in Spring 2011 at her K-12 school. Students from all ages got involved, from kindergarteners to seniors and teachers, too. Her senior class was so enthusiastic about BeadforLife that they decided to make us one of the beneficiaries of their Senior Class Gift.
Now a college student, Milou’s passion for service continues. “I am about to enter the world of adulthood,” she says. “I am expected to act like an adult, which in my mind means to give back to those who need help and to appreciate the little things in life. I hope to be a role model for those who are younger than me and might be inspired by my actions. Hosting a Bead Party has been one of the most enjoyable and rewarding things I have done in my life and I know that this will definitely not be my last project with BeadforLife.”
