Devin Hibbard is one of the co-founders of BeadforLife and is currently the North America Director. She is passionate about creating partnerships between people living on a dollar a day, and world citizens to create a social movement to overcome extreme poverty in our lifetimes.
Devin has extensive experience in international development and poverty issues, having lived and worked in India, Kenya, and Uganda, where she spent over a year as the first Uganda director of BeadforLife. She has also specialized in educating Americans on global issues through school curriculum, public education campaigns, and opportunities to take action through various non-profit organizations.
Devin holds a Masters in Public Policy specializing in international development and non-profit management. She is the author of a guide to international issues, Global Issues & Sustainable Solutions. Devin is a Marshall Memorial Fellow, a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow, and appeared on the cover of Seattle Woman magazine.
Devin lives with her husband Mark, and their son Nile, to whom the women of BeadforLife bequeathed the Ugandan name “Tumukunde” meaning let us love him. |
