Our students are between the ages of 16 and 26 and usually they did not get to complete primary or secondary school for lack of school fees. Generally students are enrolled in one of the following programs:
These programs lead to opportunities in a growing urban economy, and provide students with employable skills or perhaps even a chance to start their own business. |

For out of school youth, who yearn for a better life, the chance to be employed and to earn wages is a dream come true. It means that they will be able to afford housing, food for their families, health care, and school fees for younger siblings. It means that one day they might marry and send their own children to school, breaking the cycle of poverty that disables 40% of the people on the planet today. Sponsorship of one student through Vocational Training means that an entire family is assisted in their journey out of poverty.

Meet Isaac Kaweesa |

Isaac is the first student to graduate in our vocational training program. He is from Rwanda and escaped the genocide there by hiding in a swamp with his grandmother and youngest sister. The rest of Isaac's family was murdered, and his grandmother eventually made her way to a slum in Uganda where she raised them as best she could. Through sponsorship to computer school provided by a woman from Colorado, Isaac has completed his training and has been hired as an instructor at the computer school! He now supports his grandmother and sister. When asked about his future he exlaims with a broad smile "Hope is back in me!"
