Ruth - BeadforLife Beader

Ruth is hardworking and truly skilled at handiwork, spinning her fingers meticulously to create paper beads for the Imara Cuff Bracelet. This good-natured 35-year old used to wash clothes for less than a dollar a day in her neighborhood. When she could not find a job washing, she made tablemats out of fiber for which she was paid groundnuts (like peanuts) to feed her family. When Ruth began with BeadforLife, she received immediate praise for the quality and beauty of her work from the BeadForLife buying team. She is now busy creating some of the most fabulous Imara Cuffs and selling liquid detergent to her community. “I am so focused on the highest quality detergent so I can keep my loyal customers.” A true entrepreneur, Ruth is actively seeking more business opportunities. She lives in Kyengera, a Kampala suburb, with her two children. Join us as we empower Ruth to build her businesses!

    Amazing cuff!

This is by far my favorite bracelet to wear now. I got a dark brown colored one and it goes so well with everything I wear.

    Gorgeous Cuff

I just purchased my cuff at the school I teach at. It is beautiful. I had many compliments on the cuff the first day wearing it. I would recommend purchasing it for yourself or a gift. I am proud to wear it because of what it stands for. My children also knew the meaning thanks to our art teacher for incorporating it into her curriculum.

My favorite jewelry piece! I gave one away that I was wearing because another lady just couldn’t get over how neat it was. Now I have three more!
