Empowering women and our planet

BeadforLife trains and employs women in Uganda to hand roll beads that go into every jewelry piece, paying them up front. We’ve employed thousands of artisans to date and have provided community programs to counsel, provide health, school feeding, water projects, mosquito nets, housing and more.

We care deeply for protecting workers and the environment. Our products have been sourced locally, and we focus intently on sustainable product development, having patented an eco-friendly glaze to coat our recycled paper beads. We make every effort to reuse and repurpose materials to minimize our financial and environmental impact. We also use intentional transport decisions across continents to reduce our footprint.

Supply chain commitment

We give careful consideration to BeadforLife’s impact every step of the way.

BeadforLife is a longstanding member of the Fair Trade Federation, a membership organization of businesses who practice 360° fair trade.

360° means BeadforLife works with artisans in partnerships built on trust. It means good wages, safe working conditions, environmental responsibility, and more. It means our partners are empowered to build strong businesses for their families today – and for generations to come.

BeadforLife undergoes a rigorous screening process annually to evaluate our commitment to all nine Fair Trade Federation principles.
